Crawford Macnab (1781)  1  -   0   Connor Woods (1740)
Rudolph Austin (1665)  0  -   1   Matthew O'Donnell (1741)
Douglas Heatlie (1575)  0  -   1   James Montgomery (1510)
Simon Bate (1575)  0  -   1   William McIntosh (1489)
Gerry Brown (1563)  1  -   0   Ian McCulloch (1402)
Gordon Macdonald (1474)  0  -   1   Craig Petrie (1227)

Although this was an away match it was decided to play at Tipperlinn due to difficulty for Hamilton to get a venue at short notice.

On grading the teams were reasonably well matched, with any slight advantage that Civil Service had, been cancelled out by the fact that Hamilton are a team of rapidly improving juniors!

Gordon dropped a piece just out of the opening and had little chance to create complications after that. Gerry repelled a king side attack to go on a mating hunt himself.

Douglas had an exposed kingside which white managed to exploit with major piece pressure down the f-file. Rudolph employed his favourite hedgehog formation with the white pieces which was met with solid, cautious development by his opponent. Queenside castling led to an exposed king position with major pieces attacking down the opened c-file leading to a queen loss due to a discovered attack. Simon appeared to have a winning position at one point but let the advantage slip towards the end.

Already 1 - 4 behind, the last game to finish was on board one where Crawford managed to overcome the tactical complications created by the the British under-14 Champion, Connor Woods!
